Frederick Joseph Cardiel, 73, of Red Bluff passed away at his home on July 17, 2024.  Born in San Francisco on July 22, 1950, he spent his childhood in the city and graduated Balboa High School.  He excelled in sports, was a standout baseball player earning Baseball Player of the Year.  After high school, he was hired by PG&E where he worked for the next 25 years before retiring.  In his spare time he coached many different sports at St. Anthony's Catholic School in Manteca, both boys and girls.  He also enjoyed playing and traveling for the men's softball team, fishing and camping.

He is survived by his son, Seth Cardiel, and daughters, Gina Locke, Rachel Nussbaumer, Stacy Werner and Christina Perez.
