John Pappas, Jr. was born on October 13, 1948 in Elko, Nevada to parents John Sr. and Lorraine Pappas. He passed away at his home in Anderson on September 19, 2023 at the age of 74.

John is survived by his wife, Jessica Cunningham-Pappas; daughters, Madisyn Kathryn Pappas and Brooke Ashlyn Pappas. He is also survived by his brothers, Dale Pappas (Sally) of Reno, Nevada, Mike Pappas (Lynn) of Elko, Nevada, and Karl Pappas (Donna) of Elko Nevada, and by his sisters, Kathy Torres (Phil, now dec'd) of Kemmerer, Wyoming, Idella Fields (Rod, now dec'd) of Reno, Nevada, and Dialina Blackhat of Elko, Nevada. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family and friends.

John was preceded in death by his other brother, Peter Pappas.

As a veteran who served in the United States Marine Corps, John will be buried in the Northern California Veterans Cemetery. His graveside service will be Monday, Oct. 2nd at 2pm. Arrangements are under the direction of Sweet-Olsen Family Simple Cremations & Burial Service.
