Nelda peacefully went to be with her Lord and Savior on January 7, 2025. She was the last of seven siblings, born November 17, 1931. She was the first daughter (after five sons) born to George Robert and Nollie Cornelia Heffington Smith in Big Springs, Texas. She and her husband, Roy Utt, were married in 1950 and lived in Red Bluff briefly, moving back to Red Bluff in 1966 where she lived for the next 58 years. She worked for many years as a bookkeeper at Zuckweiler's Department Store. Before retiring, she and her husband also spent six years working at Triple C School on the island of Grand Cayman in the Caribbean. She and her husband were long-time attendees of the First Church of God in Red Bluff and for the last few years attended Highpoint Assembly in Red Bluff. She is survived by her two daughters, Aumie Devoll of Carson City, Nevada and Rhonda Johnson of Red Bluff; five grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Funeral services will be at Sweet-Olsen Family Simple Cremations and Burial Services at 1345 Main Street Red Bluff. She will be buried with her husband at the Veteran's Cemetery in Igo on Thursday, January 16, at 11:00 a.m.
