Born 5/8/42 in Petaluma, California

Richard passed away following a brief illness, on January 4, 2021 at his home in Red Bluff, surrounded by his loved ones.

Rick enjoyed golf, reading, and swapping stories with his friends.

Preceded in death by his daughter, Antonia, father Ernie, mother Ethelyn, and brother Terry. Rick is survived by his wife of 56 years, Joan, son Greg, daughters Tracy (Guy) and Stephanie, as well as grandchildren Scotty Lyford, Josh Lyford, Cory Lyford, Alysha Ramirez, Talon Tamagni and Kurtis Gipson, and ten great-grandchildren.

Rick had a heart for his family as well as the community, serving as a crossing guard at Sacred Heart School, driving patients to Redding for cancer treatments and he was a frequent blood donor, among his many volunteer activities. Richard was a member of Sacred Heart Church where he sang in the choir for many years.

A celebration of life service will be held at the Red Bluff Elks Lodge Saturday, January 16 at 2:00 p.m.
