Scholey Andrew Barrett was born on July 20, 1940, in Mississippi to parents, Peter and Mary Barrett. He passed away in Red Bluff on February 13, 2022, at the age of 81.

He is survived by his son, Robert and his daughter, Rebecca. He is also survived by his sisters, Freda Mauzey (Bruce), Harriet Elaine Cramer, and Judith Pauline Suarez. He lived to see 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
