We are deeply saddened to share the news that our mother, Shannon Barkell, 87, passed away peacefully on October 21, 2021 at Lassen House in Red Bluff, after a long battle with Alzheimer's.

Shannon was loved by many and her sweet smile and twinkling eyes really lit up a room. She loved her life, treasured her family, traveled the world and was a follower of Jesus Christ.

Shannon was predeceased by Dane Barkell of Red Bluff, her husband of 67 years. She was also predeceased by her daughter, Elizabeth Barkell Hughes of Sacramento. She is survived by her daughters, Jeri (Rory) O'Dwyer of Woodinville, Washington and Patti Hall of Red Bluff.

She is also survived by her brother, Larry Fiscus and her sister, Shauna Vizina.

Shannon lived to see 7 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

At her request, there will be no funeral service, but a public interment will be held at the Northern California Veteran's Cemetery in Igo, section 15, on December 17th, 2021 at 11am. She will be placed next to her husband and they will be together forever.
