William E. (Bill) Lueckert passed away peacefully at St. Elizabeth Community Hospital with family by his side on June 28, 2025. Bill was born in St. Louis, MO, to Catherine Margy Trott and Carl William Lueckert. Bill grew up in Lemay and Mehlville, MO, graduated from Mehlville High School, and joined the Xi Chapter of Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity at Washington University in St. Louis, MO. He enlisted into the Air Force ROTC while attending University, where he graduated as 2nd Lt., later graduating from Squadron Officer School and Helicopter School. Bill received many Presidential and Meritorious awards. Bill rose to the rank of Lt. Colonel before retiring.

He was most relaxed when he was fishing or traveling and doing chores around the house. Bill enjoyed the company of friends and family.

Bill married Patricia Brandon and they had two children, Lori Maldonado and Katherine Kelly.

Later he married the Reverend Diana Wood. Bill became a stepfather to three more children and grandfather to seventeen, great-grandfather to two.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, grandchild Graham Sink, and stepdaughter Betsy Thombs.

He is survived by his loving wife, the Reverend Diana Lueckert, his two daughters, two stepchildren and many people who continue to love him.

A Celebration of Life will be held at St. Peter`s Episcopal Church, 510 Jefferson Street, Red Bluff, CA on July 26, 2025, at 10:00 A.M.

Interment will be at the Northern California Veterans Cemetery in a private family service.
