Cynthia Olsen grew up as an active employee of her family’s mortuary in Los Angeles in the mid 60’s. She obtained her funeral director’s license and managed one of the family’s three mortuaries throughout the 1970’s and 1980’s. Despite her dissenting vote, these mortuaries were all sold to an international corporation in the mid 90’s and Cynthia moved on to other pursuits. She now serves as managing funeral director of Sweet-Olsen Family Mortuary, located at 1345 North Main Street, in Red Bluff. Cynthia is also licensed as a funeral insurance provider.
Cynthia is active in the Red Bluff Kiwanis Club, the Red Bluff Chamber of Commerce, and has served as past president of the Soroptimist International of Red Bluff. She currently serves on the board of the Tehama County Friends of the Library. Through active community service, Cynthia (who also holds a Master of Library Science degree) has always been most supportive of the public library and its important role in every community. She is also on the board of the Tehama County Community Concert Association. The Tehama Concert Series endeavors to present first class live concerts and student outreach music education for Tehama County and the surrounding area. Live musical performances enhance the community’s cultural enrichment and also introduces students to the variety of creative musical experiences.

Ken Olsen obtained his funeral director’s license and embalmer’s license in the late 70’s. Throughout the past 49+ years, he has served families at several Southern California mortuaries, from small family-run businesses through midsized funeral corporations to an enormous international corporation. His practical experience serves our families well in his role as owner of Sweet-Olsen Family.
In 2024, Ken obtained his funeral insurance license, ensuring that our firm will provide improved options for our client families who are interested in completing pre-need funeral arrangements. Ken’s memberships include: the National Funeral Directors Association, the California Funeral Directors Association, the Native Sons of the Golden West, he is a lifetime member of the Sons of Norway, and a member of the Orland Chamber of Commerce.
